Apple iTablet Coming This Fall?

Rumors are running throughout the tech world that Apple plans to release a large form iPod Touch of approximately 10 inches this fall.  The company is apparently shopping the idea of bringing back the music 'album' format with customer images, liner notes, lyrics and artwork in addition to the entire albums.

This is an attempt to assuage the feelings of music industry executives who still lament the current itunes model of selling songs for .99 that has enabled music lovers to avoid purchasing entire albums and instead just the tunes they want.  While this has been a boon for consumers, it has meant millions in lost revenue for the record companies.

In addition to this long format album music format, Apple is apparently targeting the Amazon Kindle as well by pitching the new device as an ideal ebook (ibook?) reader.  The Financial Times launched the latest round of speculation, soon followed by a bevy of also-rans.  No mention of other uses for the device but it can be assumed the iTablet would be ideal for watching movies.  Some speculation has the iTablet as supporting the HD or Blu-Ray format which could be a huge selling point if true.
